[April 13, 2018]  ATLANTA - Norma F. Kindred, 91, of Atlanta passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Meadows at Mercy Creek in Normal.

Visitation:  Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Atlanta United Methodist Church.

Service: Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the church

Obituary

Norma F. Kindred, 91, of Atlanta passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Meadows at Mercy Creek in Normal.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kindred will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Atlanta United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Doty and Rev. Dennis Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening April 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Atlanta United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery.

Norma Ferne Turner was born February 12, 1927 in Atlanta, the daughter of Mack and Dovie Pearl Powell Turner. She was united in marriage to Wendell F. Kindred on October 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2005.

She is survived by her children: Barbara Lawless of Greenwood, Indiana, Ron (Jayne) Kindred of Atlanta, and Randy (Martha) Kindred of Bloomington; her brother Don (Bettie) Turner of Atlanta; five grandchildren: Nathan (Brenda) Lawless, Melissa (Mike) Gray, Jay (Ashley) Kindred, Kayla (Andy) Roan, and Marla Kindred; six great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Aurora, Heidi, Cyndi, Jenni, and Ellie; and three great-great-grandchildren: Clyde, Autumn, and Susie.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.

Norma graduated from the Atlanta High School in 1945. She was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Atlanta Ladies Aide Cemetery Association, Illinois Soybean Association, and many Pinochle and Bridge clubs.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister who cherished her family above all else. She also loved her hometown of Atlanta and her many friends there. She never met a stranger and will be sorely missed by her family, longtime friends, and her many new friends she met in her time at Meadows at Mercy Creek.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta United Methodist Church or the Atlanta Rescue Squad.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
