Haula took a pass from James Neal inside the
blue line and then came in alone on the right side of the net,
where he deked Kings goalie Jonathan Quick and fired a shot
through his pads for his seventh career playoff goal.
The game was the longest ever played by a team in its inaugural
season, and the longest in Kings franchise history.
Marc-Andre Fleury had 29 saves and Alex Tuch scored his first
career playoff goal for Vegas. It was the 64th career playoff
victory for Fleury, which moved him past Curtis Joseph into 12th
place for all-time playoff wins.
Flyers 5, Penguins 1
Travis Konecny, Sean Couturier, Shayne Gostisbehere, Nolan
Patrick and Andrew MacDonald each scored one goal and
Philadelphia defeated Pittsburgh to even the best-of-seven
playoff series at one game apiece at PPG Paints Arena.
Philadelphia goaltender Brian Elliott, who struggled mightily in
Game 1, allowing five goals on 19 shots, was stellar this time
around with 34 saves. The Flyers were soundly beaten 7-0 in Game
1 and responded in a big way as Ivan Provorov and Couturier each
had a pair of assists.
Penguins goaltender Matt Murray scuffled with 15 saves on 19
shots, snapping a streak of three consecutive playoff shutouts.
It marked the most goals that he has allowed in 17 career home
playoff games.
Jets 4, Wild 1
Goalie Connor Hellebuyck came within a minute of notching a
shutout against visiting Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western
Conference quarterfinals.
Tyler Myers, Paul Stastny, Andrew Copp and Patrik Laine scored
for the Jets, who continued the home-ice dominance that they
displayed during the regular season. The Jets have won the first
two games of the series at home. Game 3 is Sunday night in St.
Paul, Minn.
The Wild's Zach Parise scored on a power play with 44.8 seconds
remaining for Minnesota's goal, coming on the team's third shot
of the period. That made the Wild 1-for-4 on power plays.
