Victor Oladipo scored 32 points,
hitting 6 of 9 attempts from 3-point range, to power the Indiana
Pacers to a 98-80 victory over the host Cleveland Cavaliers on
Sunday in Game 1 of an opening-round Eastern Conference playoff
series.
Oladipo, who sank 11 of 19 shots overall, also contributed six
rebounds, four assists and four steals. Myles Turner scored 16
points, and Bojan Bogdanovic had 15 points for Indiana. The Pacers,
who dominated most of the game, shot 45.6 percent while holding the
Cavaliers to 38.5 percent.
LeBron James contributed a triple-double for the Cavaliers with 24
points on 7-of-17 shooting, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. JR Smith
scored 15 points off the bench, and Kevin Love had nine points and
team-high 17 rebounds for Cleveland.
Celtics 113, Bucks 107 (OT)
Al Horford had a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds, and
host Boston edged Milwaukee in overtime in Game 1 of an Eastern
Conference quarterfinals series.
Terry Rozier finished with 23 points, Marcus Morris had 21, Jaylen
Brown scored 20 and Jayson Tatum added 19 to become the first
Celtics rookie since Brian Shaw in 1989 to score 15 or more in his
playoff debut. Tatum also pulled down 10 rebounds.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a game-high 35 points and 13 rebounds and
Khris Middleton scored 31 for Milwaukee, which hasn't advanced past
the first round in seven straight postseason appearances dating back
to 2003. Antetokounmpo and Middleton were the first pair of Bucks
teammates to score 30 apiece in a playoff game since Bob Dandridge
and Brian Winters did so in 1976.
Thunder 116, Jazz 108
Paul George drained a franchise playoff-record eight 3-pointers
while scoring 36 points to lead Oklahoma City to a victory over
visiting Utah in the opening game of their Western Conference
first-round playoff series.

George was 13 of 20 from the field, and he missed only 3 of 11
3-point attempts, but was getting his hip and lower back worked on
while watching the final 62 seconds as the Jazz staged a frantic
rally. Russell Westbrook contributed 29 points, 13 rebounds and
eight assists for the Thunder, and Carmelo Anthony added 15 points.
Rookie Donovan Mitchell had 27 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz
despite being hobbled in the final quarter by a sore left foot.
Utah's Rudy Gobert scored 14 points.
Rockets 104, Timberwolves 101
James Harden delivered a virtuoso performance, aided significantly
by a Clint Capela double-double, and Houston survived Minnesota in
Game 1 of their Western Conference first-round series.
Harden finished with 44 points and eight assists, and Capela chipped
in 24 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. Harden finished 15 of 26
from the floor, 7 of 12 from behind the arc, to counter poor
shooting from the trio of Chris Paul, Eric Gordon and Trevor Ariza,
who were a combined 9 of 30. Paul was uncharacteristically erratic,
posting six turnovers while missing 5 of 6 3-point attempts. He
scored 14 points.
The Timberwolves had five players score in double figures, paced by
Andrew Wiggins with 18 points. Jeff Teague flirted with a
triple-double (15 points, nine rebounds, eight assists) while
Derrick Rose added 16 points off the Minnesota bench.
