Hospital offers "Spring Menu Makeover for People with
Diabetes"

LINCOLN
- Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital provides a free education
group for people with diabetes mellitus. The group meets the third
Friday of the month in the Wombacher Room at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital in Lincoln. This month the group will meet on Friday, April 20
to discuss the topic, “Spring Menu Makeover.” Attendees are encouraged
to bring their favorite recipes.

The casual group
meetings are free and do not require registration. Jennifer
DiPasquale, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator,
leads the group.
“The diabetes support group is a great opportunity to get practical
and timely information about how to manage your diabetes,”
DiPasquale said. Family members, friends, and caregivers are also
welcome to attend the meetings.
An estimated 8.6
percent of adults in Logan County have been diagnosed with diabetes
according to the Illinois Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System
and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
