Lincoln Railers baseball falls to Galesburg 5-3

The Lincoln Railers baseball team hosted Galesburg on a chilly and
windy Wednesday afternoon at Mike Curry Field.
Galesburg took a 1-0 lead over Lincoln in the second inning. The
Railers tied the game at 1-1 in the third inning on an RBI single by
Nate Arnold. A three-run fourth inning by Galesburg gave them the
4-1 lead. Lincoln managed to score two runs in the bottom of the
fifth inning. Galesburg added an insurance run in the top of the
seventh inning to take the game by a score of 5-3.
Dreyden Pozsgai started the game for Lincoln. He threw six and
one-third innings, allowing five runs on 11 hits. Pozsgai struck out
five batters.

Noah Funk pitched the final two-thirds of an inning in relief.
Lincoln got hits from Arnold, Funk, Pozsgai, Jack Eimer and Will
Ewald.
Lincoln will travel to Fairbury on Friday to take on Prairie Central
at 4:30 p.m. The Railers return home for a doubleheader on Saturday
versus Effingham. Game times are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and 1:00
p.m.
