[April 19, 2018]  HEYWORTH — Barbara May Steiling, 82, of Heyworth passed away at 11:21 a.m. at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center Sunday April 8, 2018.

Visitation:  10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, April 13 at The United Methodist Church of Heyworth

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at the church

Funeral home:  Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth

Obituary

Barbara May Steiling, 82, of Heyworth passed away at 11:21 A.M. at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center Sunday April 8, 2018.

Visitation will be from 10-11 am Friday April 13 at The United Methodist Church of Heyworth. Funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. also at the Church. Burial will be at 1:20 pm in Roach Cemetery rural Atlanta, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to Heyworth Public Library District or United Methodist Church of Heyworth.

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home Heyworth is handling arrangements.

Barbara was born May 7, 1935 in Lincoln IL to Frank William and Idabel Baker Steiling.

She is survived by Steiling and Baker cousins and her loving church family.

Barbara was the ultimate community volunteer. She would deliver to all new residents of Heyworth a welcome basket with a loaf of homemade bread. She was on the Hey-Days Committee, Heyworth Alumni Assoc.,and sang in the Sweet Adeline’s Group for many years. She was Grand Marshall for Heyworth Christmas Parade in 2008. She was a very active member in the United Methodist Church of Heyworth, singing in the choir and taking part in many programs at the Church. Barbara loved the Lord. She would always say “Today is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.”
