Cold temperatures were issue for many of the
events as the women’s team placed 12th and the men’s team was
14th out of 17 schools represented.
Sophomore Carrisa Tinsley (Colfax) had a strong meet for the
women’s team. Tinsley placed 8th in the hammer throw, 2nd in the
javelin, and 5th in the shot. Freshman April Goetz (Auburn) came
in 4th in the 5,000 Meter event.
Placing for the men’s team was freshman Cameron Harris
(Belleville) in the triple jump (6th). The men’s 4x100 relay
team of Kane Jackson, Desmond Berdell, Josh Turner and Rodman
Teltull placed 4th.
LC Coach Brian Herron said, “It was good to finally get a meet
under our belts. It was very obvious that we were a little
rusty. Even though we did not place as high as we wanted in
several events our times and marks were not far off of where I
thought we would be. This was a huge meet with very deep fields.
This meet will help us a lot as we move into the heart of our
schedule and better weather.”
The Lynx will be in action again this Saturday at the University
of Dubuque. The meet will start Friday with the javelin. The
remainder of the meet will be Saturday starting at 9 am.
