inspiration in “Islands in the Stream” by Papa Hemingway, one of his
last novels set during World War II. |

“Milestones on Vancouver Island” by C. Lyons. |

“Biblio-wallets” by Nancy Raulings Saul. Each wallet expresses a
different literary theme. Nancy combines art and practicality as
each wallet can be slipped into a pocket or purse and will hold
cash, credit cards, and an ID. Think how cool it would be to pull
one of these unique wallets out of your pocket at the supermarket
check-out. |

Artists and guests mingle around art and a sumptuous spread of
appetizers for an elegant opening night at the Lincoln Art
Institute. Margie Douglas brought a bow tie pasta salad that was a
hit. Nancy Rollings Saul’s cherry strudel always had a crowd around
it. Pam Shuff supplied a very tasty egg salad in place of her usual
everything deviled eggs. Pam Moriearty brought a cheese board with
all sorts of selections. |

Artist Cheryl Spove and Ron Keller discuss her love for the poetry
of Walt Whitman. Ron mentioned that Whitman was a great admirer of
Abraham Lincoln, and noted in his writings that Whitman always waved
at President Lincoln when he passed in his carriage. |
