[April 26, 2018]  Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has been placed on the 10-day disabled with a hamstring injury, the team announced Wednesday.

Beltre, 39, injured his left hamstring while running to first base after a single in Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. An MRI exam revealed a Grade 1 strain.

Beltre is batting .310 with one homer and eight RBIs in 24 games this season.

The Rangers also activated right-hander Doug Fister (1-2, 3.95 ERA) from the disabled list, recalled outfielder Ryan Rua from Round Rock and optioned right-handed reliever Matt Bush to the same Triple-A affiliate.

--Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames was placed on the 10-day disabled list but could be lost to the team for as long as two months with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb.

Thames, 31, suffered the injury during Tuesday's victory over the Kansas City Royals. He was batting .250 with seven homers and 13 RBIs in 22 games.

Right-hander Brandon Woodruff was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to fill the roster spot. Woodruff had a 5.14 ERA in three appearances (one start) for Milwaukee earlier this season.

--Rookie outfielder Ronald Acuna joined the Atlanta Braves and was in the starting lineup against the Cincinnati Reds.

Acuna, 20, opened the season at Triple-A Gwinnett and is regarded as the top prospect in baseball. He appeared ready for the big leagues in spring training with a .432 average and four home runs with four stolen bases in 16 games.

Acuna jumped three levels in the minors in 2017, going from Class A to Gwinnett with a batting average of .325 and 21 home runs along the way. He hit .344 with nine homers in 54 Triple-A games.
