Obituary
Carol Joan Alsup, 71, of Beason
passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Decatur
Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Carol was born on August 28, 1946 in Logan County,
the daughter of Irvin Earl and Wardie (Coates)
Schroth. She married Larry Alsup on August 19, 1965
he survives in Beason.
Carol is also survived by her children, Michael
Alsup of Beason, Lisa (Tyler) Messer of Burlington,
IA, and Lynne (Randall) Maus of Mount Pulaski; her
grandchildren, Haley Maus, Emily Maus, Kira Messer,
and Toby Messer; one great-grandchild, Tinley
Rubenacker; her sisters, Norma Shehorn of Mount
Pulaski, and Sonia (Paul) Heft of Chestnut.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her
daughter, Lori Kocialkowski; her brothers, Charles
and Dean; and her sister, Elizabeth.

Carol was a homemaker; and the
caretaker of Harmony Cemetery in Beason. She truly
loved being the caretaker for the cemetery. Carol
also enjoyed studying genealogy and drinking coffee
with her friends. Above all else, Carol loved her
family; especially spending time with her
grandchildren.
Services for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Mount Pulaski Christian
Church, with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will
take place one hour prior to the services
(10:00-11:00a.m.).
Memorials may be made in Carol’s name to Decatur
Memorial Hospital.
