The Lincoln Railers traveled north Friday to play a game versus
Normal Community at the home the Cornbelters. The excitement of
playing at the Corn Crib was evident for both teams but sadly for
Railer fans it was Normal Community having the most fun. The Ironmen
defeated Lincoln by a score of 15-2.
Normal Community hit Lincoln starting pitcher Jack Eimer for seven
hits and eight runs in his four innings of work. Eimer did strike
out two batters.
A five-run fourth inning was the best of the day for the Ironmen.
But with one swing Normal Community scored four runs in the fifth
inning on a grand slam by Tyler Thierry off reliever Brenden
Eigenbrod.
