On
Thursday morning, at 8 a.m. a large group of youngsters, all Logan
County 4-H members, gathered at the sheep barns for the annual Sheep
Show.

This show was perhaps the largest livestock show
of the fair this year when it comes to the number of participants.
The judge at the show certainly had a lot of tough decisions to
make, particularly in the Market Wether classes where five kids
participated in the Lightweight Class, six in the Medium Weight and
six in the Heavyweight Class.
At the end of the day, the Supreme Overall Female Award went to
Shelby Heyen. Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Ewe Lamb went to
Heyen and Alex Coers.
Coers and Brayden Alexander took Grand Champion and Reserve Champion
Ram Lamb.
Awards for the sheep show were sponsored by Ketcham Sheep Equipment,
Ag-Land FS – Noah Green, 3J Farm – The Coers Family, Bank of
Chestnut, Atlanta Ag Center – Phil Wilson, Farm Credit Illinois,
Brandt Consolidated, State Bank of Lincoln, Timbercrest Village and
Grieme Insurance.
