[August 10, 2018]    The Detroit Pistons announced Thursday that forward Jon Leuer had undergone surgery on his right knee after injuring his medial meniscus during an offseason workout.

Leuer's operation was performed Wednesday in New York after he was injured earlier this week. An update on his condition is expected before the start of training camp.

Leuer played in just eight games last season as the result of a left ankle injury that required surgery. He had averaged a career-high 10.2 points in 75 games (34 starts) with the Pistons in 2016-17, his first year in Detroit.

Leuer, entering the third season of a four-year, $42 million contract, has averaged 6.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in his seven-year career. The 29-year-old is set to earn just over $10 million this season.
