LINCOLN
- FFA Leadership has been around for many
years and each year, kids come back wanting to go again!
This year the Olympia FFA Chapter sent two junior
girls, Bailey Rogers and Josie Litwiller.

When these best friends arrived at the camp they
realized they had to stay in different cabins and they had to hang
out with different groups. The girls were a little intimidated at
first but at the end of the four-day camp, the girls were very glad
they got to meet new friends that they know will last a lifetime.
At the camp, the girls got to participate in group bonding and Ag
Olympics.
The group bonding took place in a forest where they
had to walk down paths to get to a challenge. A few of the
challenges included a 12-foot wall, a tire game and “sardines”.
The favorite activity of most campers was the 12-foot wall. In this
activity you had to get all of your group, which consisted of FFA
members all shapes and sizes, over a 12-foot tall wall. This forced
your group to work together and use leadership to get every member
over the wall.
These group bonding activities helped the campers to
become more social and become great leaders. In Ag Olympics, the
girls got to participate in many games as a group going against
other groups.

A few of the games were blind volleyball, greasy
watermelon, and tug of war. In all of these activities, the girls
had to work with their group and use leadership to win the games.
Throughout the whole week Josie said that she loved getting to know
her group and making new friends! She said that she can’t wait to
see her new friends at other FFA events such as National Convention.
Bailey said that her favorite part of camp were the challenge
courses because she got to get to know her whole group a lot better.
Both of the girls had an amazing time at camp and they both learned
a lot about being a better leader which they will bring back to FFA
in this coming year.
