Obituary
Joshua Daniel “Josh” Ormond, 40,
formerly of Lincoln, died in his home in Warren, MI
August 3, 2018.
Joshua is the son of Lincoln residents Dan and Toni
Ormond. He was born March 7, 1978 in Quincy. The
family moved to Lincoln in January 1989 when his dad
attended Lincoln Christian College.
Josh attended Chester-East Lincoln elementary
school. From there they moved to Westbrook, ME in
the summer of 1992. Josh graduated from Westbrook
High School in 1996 with high honors. He attended
Cornell University and Southern Maine University.
Upon his return to Lincoln he had become a gamer,
and met his wife, Jessica Davis, playing “Dark Ages
of Camelot”. He eventually moved to MI to be closer
to Jessica and made his home there. They were
married September 20, 2008.
Josh worked for a computer consulting company,
Stefanini, and was a part of their team for 11
years.
Josh was an avid reader, enjoyed a weekly board game
group, and on visits with his parents, he loved a
good old fashioned game of chess with his dad. He
loved everything “Star Wars”, especially the
character of Darth Vader.
Josh was a baptized believer of Jesus Christ, giving
his life to Him July 31, 1988. He had a generous
heart and giving spirit. He loved life and truly
wanted to make people laugh and smile. He will be
deeply missed, especially his great big hugs.
Surviving are his wife, Jessica Davis Ormond of
Warren MI, parents Dan and Toni Ormond, his sister,
Rebekah Ormond of St. Louis, MO, his brother Matthew
(Jessica) Ormond of Bremerton, WA, five nephews
Dean, Hunter, Gavin, Dylan, and Duke Ormond, all of
Bremerton, his grandmother, Marilyn Myers of
Bloomington, and many, many aunts, uncles, and
cousins. |
He was preceded in death by his grandparents
Earl Myers, Bernard and Marian Ormond, and his nephew,
Holland Ormond.
A celebration of Josh’s life was held on August 10, 2018 at
Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, MI, with burial in
Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI. |
