shortstop Alcides Escobar snapped the Royals' team-record of 153
consecutive errorless innings.
After Matt Davidson struck out, Leury Garcia singled and stole
second. Omar Narvaez then walked, and Anderson then singled to
drive in Garcia to increase Chicago's lead to 6-2. Delmonico
then followed with his fourth home run of the season, a
405-footer to right-center field.
Whit Merrifield had two hits, two walks, an RBI and also scored
a run. Escobar also had two hits for Kansas City, who lost for
the 12th time in 15 games. The Royals also fell to 19-41 in road
games.
Merrifield had an RBI double, his 32nd double of the season,
Alex Gordon added a sacrifice fly and Salvador Perez hit an RBI
single to give the Royals a 3-0 lead in the third.

in the sixth, driving in Anderson both times, to cut it to 3-2
before Chicago blew the game open in the seventh.
