Obituary
Janet S. Brown , 70, of Atlanta
passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her
home.
Private Funeral Services are scheduled.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Waynesville.
Janet Susan Stedwell was born on July 14, 1948 in
Champaign, the daughter of George W. and Geneva L.
McLean Stedwell. She was united in marriage to Paul
Thomas McNail in 1968. She later married Kenneth
Earl Brown on February 15, 1979. He preceded her in
death on May 12, 1996.
She is survived by her sons: Shawn McNail of
Atlanta, James (Amy) McNail of Peoria, Andrew (Jenna
) Brown of Atlanta and stepdaughter Carol Shroyer of
Lincoln. Two grandson: Thomas James McNail, Kenneth
M. Brown. Two brothers: George Lee Stedwell of
Indiana, Charles Stedwell of Champaign and one
sister: Katherine Miller of Elmhurst.
She was preceded in death by her parents. |
Janet graduated from Paxton High School in 1966.
After high school, she pursued careers in nursing and cosmetology.
She was baptized at the Atlanta United Methodist Church. She had
been employed at Capital Records, the Dewitt County Nursing Home in
Hallsville and Old Country Buffet in Normal.
Her hobbies included gardening and needle point.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
