Michael Liechty sentenced to 14 years prison for Aggravated Battery

On
August 15, 2018, Michael Liechty was sentenced pursuant to a fully
negotiated plea agreement to 14 years in the Illinois Department of
Corrections for Aggravated Battery, a class 1 felony.

On September 28, 2017, local emergency personnel responded to 516 S.
Main Street in Lincoln for an unresponsive adult female. The female was
treated for heroin overdose and survived. Lincoln Police conducted an
investigation which identified Michael Liechty as a suspect who
delivered the heroin which lead to the overdose.
“The Lincoln Police conducted a thorough investigation which allowed our
office to charge and convict Michael Liechty for providing the heroin in
this case,” stated Jonathan Wright, Logan County State’s Attorney.

“Michael Liechty has a 2005 conviction for drug induced homicide out
of Tazewell County. Based on his record and the circumstances of the
case, this office pursued a significant sentence against Michael
Liechty,” continued Wright.
