[August 28, 2018]

The Regional Cancer Partnership of Illinois will offer free prostate cancer screenings Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Prostate cancer is one of the leading cancers among men. Early detection allows for more treatment options.

The screenings will be provided from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, 2833 South Grand Avenue East. The free screenings include a PSA blood test, physician-performed digital rectal exam and blood pressure readings. Flu shots will also be available at the event.

Women who accompany their male partners can attend a free women’s urinary health talk by Dr. Sohail Siddique, an SIU Medicine urogynecologist. The 30-minute talks will be offered at 5:30 p.m. and at 6:15 p.m. Siddique will discuss female urinary incontinence and treatment options.
