The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team controlled the tempo of
play and led from start to finish to pick up their fourth win of the
season on Saturday. The victory came over the visiting Indiana
University Northwest Red Hawks, a team that came into the game with
a 9-2 record and has received votes in the latest NAIA National
Poll.
Lincoln (4-6) started the game with intense defensive pressure and
was able to force several early turnovers that led to point-scoring
opportunities. LC made the most of those opportunities and built a
15-2 lead. Lincoln would go on to close out the first quarter up
24-9.
IU Northwest was able to regroup in the second quarter and cut the
LC lead to as few as five-points (32-27), but another strong effort
by the LC defense helped the Lady Lynx take a 39-30 lead into the
halftime break.
In the second half, Lincoln maintained their strong defensive effort
and accurate shooting performance which resulted in double-digit
leads for the Lady Lynx throughout most of the half. The game would
end with LC leading by eight (75-67).

team-high four turnovers and had four assists. Jantia Clark
(Indianapolis, IN) was the fourth Lady Lynx to reach double-digits
in scoring with 12 points.
Lincoln Coach Deronte Polite was pleased with the way his team
performed. “We played with confidence today, and it really showed in
our defensive effort,” said Polite. “This was our strongest game of
the year so far and one where I can say we played well from start to
finish,” he added.
LC will look to build on this win with another home game on Tuesday
evening (Dec.4th) when they will host Olivet-Nazarene University.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
