West Lincoln-Broadwell Eighth Grade Lady Wolverines headed to State

The West Lincoln-Broadwell Lady Wolverines are headed to the 2018 Eighth Grade Class 1A State Tournament. The Lady Wolverines defeated Roanoke-Benson 45-14 at home Wednesday night to clinch the Sectional Championship.

In a game that moved pretty quick, the Lady Wolverines stormed out to a 13-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

By halftime, the Lady Wolverines were up 33-2 over the Rockets.

Roanoke-Benson scored a couple baskets in the third quarter, yet still trailed 41-6. The Rockets just had no chance against the WLB defense.

The Lady Wolverines dominated and put the Rockets away 45-14.

Kloe Froebe led WLB with 24 points and 7 steals. Becca Heitzig had 6 points and 6 assists for WLB.

WLB (21-0) will take on Mount Pulaski (21-4) in the opening round of the State Tournament on Saturday at Clinton Junior High School. Game time is 2:30 p.m. The winner will play later that night at 6:30 p.m. in Clinton.
