LINCOLN
Everyone should exercise vigilance with regard to disciplined
driving. I have had some of our local residents express concerns for
the safety of our Mount Pulaski City employees while vehicles are
passing them. I too am concerned for the safety of these
individuals. It's important that we pay attention to our city
employees who are often times doing work alongside our city streets.
This work may be cleanup details, maintenance of drainage systems or
simple road repairs.
These people make life more comfortable through their diligent
efforts for the residents of Mount Pulaski. They enable us to enjoy
the beauty of our city, safer travel through our streets during
inclement weather, sewerage maintenance, and a multitude of "behind
the scenes" duties.
I am requesting, as your Chief of Police to slow down while passing
these workers and if possible, take an alternate route so as not to
endanger their lives while they are in the performance of their
duties.

I am again requesting those traveling within our city limits to obey ALL rules
of the road i.e. lane usage and speed limits or face a variety of "not so
pleasant" consequences.
My job is to insure the safety of Mount Pulaski residents. The employees hired
to meet the needs of our city are included under this umbrella of protection.
I sincerely hope my letters encourage consideration for worker safety as I fully
intend to uphold the responsibilities of my position as Police Chief.
Our city resident's care is my primary concern. Let us all work together to
insure the safety of everyone living here.
