The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball Team played from behind most
of the game and eventually had to settle for a six-point loss at the
hands of the visiting Lincoln Christian College Red Lions.
LC got off to a good start, going up 9-4 early in the first quarter.
However, a sixteen-to-four run of points by LCU gave the Red Lions a
commanding 20-13 lead. The first quarter would end with Lincoln
trailing 26-18.
The second quarter was a lower scoring period, but one in which
Lincoln Christian was able to extend their lead and take a 39-27
advantage into the break.
In the second half, began to slowly chip away at the LCU lead and
ended the third quarter down by just five points (62-57). The
comeback continued during the fourth quarter and LC even took a
brief one-point lead when junior Nautica Preston (Chicago) hit a
three-pointer with 5:37 left in the game to put the Lady Lynx up
71-70. The Red Lions quickly answered with a field goal to take back
the lead and from there the two teams battled back-and-forth the
rest of the way.

Near the end of regulation, the score stood 76-76, however, the last
minute belonged to LCU as they scored six unanswered points to seal
an 82-76 victory.
Lincoln College was led in scoring by Nautica Preston, who shot 50%
from beyond the three-point line, to record a season-high 33 points.
Sophomore forward Kaleia Monteiro (Rockford) also had a strong night
scoring 19 points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.
LC will look to get back in the winner’s circle on December 20th
when they go on the road to take on Roosevelt University in Chicago.
