[December 14, 2018]  LINCOLN - Frances M. Read , 93, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. Clara's Rehab and Senior Center in Lincoln.

Graveside Service:  Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln

Obituary

Frances Marie Read, 93, of Lincoln, passed away on Saturday December 1, 2018 at St. Clara's Rehab and Senior Care Center in Lincoln.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside Services will be on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln with Rev. Adam Quinn officiating.

Frances was born September 26, 1925 in Neosho, MO, the daughter of Arthur E. Ticknor and Lelia Pointer Ticknor. She married Thomas Brewster Read on February 18, 1944. He preceded her in death in December 1988.

Frances retired from Boss Drug Store in downtown Lincoln after 30 years. She enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting, and collecting porcelain birds and flowers. She also liked watching Cardinal baseball.

Funeral Director

She is survived by her children: Phylis (Ronald) Borders of Vancouver, WA and Benton Read of Lincoln; two grandchildren: Kristin Borders and Jonathan Borders of Vancouver, WA; twin sister Francille Crosier of Lincoln, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Mary; one half-brother; and two half-sisters.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
