Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers sweep Raymond Lincolnwood

The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers hosted the Raymond Lincolnwood Lancers Saturday night at the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium.

The Hilltoppers JV won 48-34.

Joey Davis led Mount Pulaski with 16 points. Todd Kelly tossed in 11 points and Aiden Schneider contributed 10 points. The JV team improves their record to 4-3 overall on the season.

The Hilltoppers Varsity won 58-45.

Jonathan Shehorn led Mount Pulaski with 16 points. Drew Martin added 10 points for the Hilltoppers. The Varsity team improves their record to 4-6 overall on the season.

Back-to-back threes from Jonathan Shehorn in the first quarter gave the Hilltoppers a 13-8 lead.

Grant Davis hit a three near the end of the first quarter to give Mount Pulaski a 16-11 lead.

Another three from Shehorn put Mount Pulaski out front 19-11 to start the second quarter action.

The Hilltoppers lead was 35-25 at the half.

Mount Pulaski held their biggest lead of the night late in the third quarter after a field goal from Grant Davis put them up 46-30.

The Hilltoppers had little trouble with the Lancers in the fourth quarter and put them away 58-45.

Mount Pulaski will play in the Decatur St. Teresa Holiday Tournament December 21, 22, 27 and 28.
