[December 15, 2018]
The annual Children’s Christmas Shopping event will be on Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday, December 18 through 20, at First
Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Lincoln. As in years past, children
will be bussed from Head Start and Christian Child Care to the
church to shop for family members. They will arrive at the entrance
of the Community Education Building -- now transformed into their
own personal store, where every item is FREE!
Each of the children, ages three to five years, have a list of names
for whom they are shopping. Volunteers from the congregation will
assist the small shoppers in selecting items for the special people
in their lives. Additional volunteers will wrap and bag their
purchases before they depart.

Like any good shopping trip, the children will enjoy cookies and juice before
re-boarding their bus and returning to their early childhood programs. Each
child will also receive a bag of their own, with gifts to take home.
The FPC Mission Team is particularly fond of this project and the great
relationships the church has established in support of Community Action/Head
Start and Christian Child Care. The entire church family works together to make
this event special for the teachers, children, and parents in the Lincoln
community.
