Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reported that it
was a two-year, $19.5 million agreement.
The Mets have been pursuing a catcher this offseason and had
been trying to acquire J.T. Realmuto from the Miami Marlins.
The Tampa Bay Rays sent Ramos, a two-time All-Star, to the
Philadelphia Phillies at the trade deadline in July. Between the
two teams, Ramos hit .306 with 15 home runs and 70 RBIs. He
threw out 29 percent of runners attempting to steal in 2018 but
holds a career percentage of 32 percent.
The 31-year-old Ramos has batted .273 with 109 homers and 426
RBIs in 760 career games in nine seasons with the Minnesota
Twins, Washington Nationals, Rays and Phillies.
