The move reunites the duo with head coach James
O'Connor, who coached Louisville from 2015-18 and took over at
OCSC in June.
Ranjitsingh, 25, made 81 appearances and recorded 33 shutouts
for Louisville since joining the club in 2015. He was a
four-year starter at Mercer College in Macon, Georgia.
"After four years at the club where I started my professional
career, it's time for me to say goodbye as I pursue an
opportunity I have been working really hard for," wrote
Ranjitsingh on social media. "Being an original member of this
club, it was amazing for me to be part of the success and to see
the growth of football in this city. This club will always be
special to me and I have a lot to be thankful for."
Since joining Louisville, the 26-year-old Smith made 95
appearances and led the team in minutes in both 2016 and 2018.
He attended Transylvania University (Lexington, Kentucky) and
left as the team's all-time leader in goals and assists.
"The last three years in Louisville have been an unforgettable
experience. Playing for Louisville City FC was a dream come
true, signing my first professional contract," Smith wrote. "I
want to thank the coaching staff and the owners for giving me
the opportunity to play for such a great club. And also helping
me grow as a soccer player and as a person."
