Williams pleads guilty on counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual

An
Emden man has pleaded guilty to having sex with a child. On Friday,
November 2, 2018 Brian K. Williams (d.o.b. 4-5-69) of the 600 block
of Market Street, Emden, Illinois, pleaded guilty to two counts of
Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, each a Class X Felony.

During the plea, prosecutors stated that prior to the victim turning 13
years old Williams had sexually touched the victim and had sex with the
victim on multiple occasions.
Judge William Workman accepted set William’s plea and set a sentencing
hearing for 2:30 p.m. on January 15, 2019.
Each count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child carries a
possible sentence of between 6 and 60 years in the Illinois Department
of Corrections, followed by between 3 years and natural life of
mandatory supervised release (formerly called parole), and Williams must
serve 85% of the sentence. Each count is mandatory consecutive to the
other. Meaning, Williams is eligible for a sentence between 12 and 120
years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Probation is not a
possibility.

Williams has been in the custody of the Logan County Sheriff’s
Department since August 23, 2017 and will get credit for the time he
has been in custody.
In addition to any sentence, Williams must register for life as a
sexual predator in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender
Registration Act.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Department with the assistance of the
Sangamon County Child Advocacy Center investigated the case.
