Monthly Breast Cancer Support Group Meetings in 2019

SPRINGFIELD
Memorial Medical Center will hold a series of monthly meetings for a
breast cancer support group in 2019.
Meetings begin at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the
Clarke Conference Room (E-118), Memorial Medical Center, 701 N.
First St., Springfield. For more information on any of the listed

Jan. 8: Diet and Nutrition, speaker Elizabeth Beets, registered
dietitian, Memorial Medical Center.
Feb. 12: CBD Oil: What’s All the Hype?, Julianne Manuel, registered
pharmacist and owner, Mason City Pharmacy.
March 12: Art Therapy: Paint Night, Peggy Means. Participants will
create canvas art.
April 9: Doris Garrett, service area relationship specialist, Susan
G. Komen.

May 14: Mindfulness Exercises: Stress Less, Focus More, Alicia Sparks, change
management consultant, Memorial Medical Center.
June 11: Complementary Therapy Discussion, Carla Daniels, nurse practitioner,
Springfield Clinic Oncology.
July 9: Creative session, adult coloring.
Aug. 13: Yoga.
Sept. 10: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, American Cancer Society.
Oct. 8: What is an Oncotype Test? What is a Hereditary Risk Assessment? How Do
These Tools Help in the Treatment of Breast Cancer?, Brooke Trickey, nurse
practitioner, Springfield Clinic Oncology.
Nov. 12: Winter Social, dinner at a to-be-announced location.
No meeting will be held in December 2019. Meetings will resume in 2020.
