Surviving are her six children: Robert A. Durchholz of Elkhart, Cecilia A. (Mike) Durst of Columbia, S.C., Jeanne M. (Rick) Born of Columbia, S.C., Gary A. (Alicia) Durchholz of Williamsville, Daniel F.(Teresa) Durchholz of Elkhart, and Nancy K. Durchholz (Christine) of Waverly. She was the proud grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother of nine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John “Bud” Fitzgibbon; one sister, Kathleen Williams; and one granddaughter: Maura Durchholz.

Funeral Director

Agnes was a life-long devout Catholic and member of St. Patrick’s Church in Elkhart. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society and a long-time CCD instructor.

In addition, Agnes was an avid reader, and loved collecting and trading paper dolls. Her favorites include vintage Gone With the Wind collectables. She was also a faithful bird watcher and went on many a bird-count as a member of the Audubon Society. In her day, she was a dedicated shopper as she loved going to the mall and lunching with friends and family.

She was an amazing mother, at one time having five children five years of age and under and then a surprise five years later! We are certain that having five teenagers in the house at one time was also a challenge. She was up to the task, always keeping a vigilant, but loving eye on her loved ones.

In addition to being a beloved wife and mother, she was also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be forever remembered for her unwavering love for her family. Her greatest gift to those she left behind was that she was the model of selflessness in the way she loved and cared for others.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Patrick’s Church of Elkhart or to the Elkhart Public Library.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
