Per the report, the two-time All-Star has
already taken a physical and will ink an agreement for $3.35
million in 2019 with a chance to earn close to $4 million via
incentives.
Lucroy, 32, hit a career-low .241 last season with the Oakland
A's, managing just four homers and 51 RBIs in 126 games.
Not too long ago, Lucroy was considered one of the top catchers
in the majors. He finished fourth in National League MVP
balloting in 2014 when he batted .301 with 13 homers, a
league-leading 53 doubles and 69 RBIs for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Two seasons later, he hit .292 with a career-best 24 home runs
for the Brewers and Texas Rangers combined. Lucroy split the
2017 season between Texas and the Colorado Rockies and batted
.265 with six homers and 40 RBIs.
Overall, Lucroy has a .277 career average in nine seasons with
100 homers and 509 RBIs. He launched 10-plus home runs in five
of his first seven seasons, hitting over .300 twice (2012,
2014). He was selected by Milwaukee in the third round of the
2007 draft, and he broke into the majors in 2010.
