[January 31, 2018]  HARTSBURG - Marjorie Bathe, 84, of Hartsburg passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation:  4:00-6:00p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln

Service: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg

Obituary

Marjorie Bathe, 84, of Hartsburg passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Marjorie was born on July 15, 1933 in Hartsburg the daughter of Heiko and Matilda (Sampen) Lessen. She married Gene Bathe on June 28, 1953 in Hartsburg. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2017.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Norma Bathe of Hartsburg, Michael (Christine) Bathe of Normal, and Nancy (Paul) Kemp of Janesville, WI; her grandchildren, Courtney Bathe, Quinnton Kemp, and Cassidy Kemp; her brothers, William Lessen and Robert (Bertha) Lessen; and her sister-in-law, Alice Lessen.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Alan.

 

Marjorie was an EMT with Hartsburg for 20 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Hartsburg; where she served as past President of The Methodist Women. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved camping & fishing. Marjorie was also well known for her cinnamon rolls. But above all else, Marjorie loved her family; her grandchildren were her life.

Services for Marjorie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, with Rev. Lisa Goodwin officiating. Visitation will take place from 4:00-6:00p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will follow the services at Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Memorial donations may be made in Marjorie’s name to ALS Awareness.
