The Lincoln College Men’s Basketball team snapped a two-game losing
skid on Saturday by defeating the visiting Illinois Central College
Cougars 81-70.
LC used a strong defensive effort in the first half to hold ICC to
less than a 40% shooting percentage from the field and took a 42-27
lead into halftime. The Cougars heated up some in the second half,
but were never able to close the gap enough to threaten the LC’s
lead.
A major factor in the game was Lincoln’s ability to get to the foul
line. Lynx free throw shooters went 17 of 25 as compared to the 9 of
16 free-throw performance by the Cougars.
Sophomore guard Trayvon Tyler (Rockford) led all scorers with 20
points. Tyler also led the team in assists (5) and steals (3).

Rivera tied for the team lead in rebounds with 5 each.
Lincoln (18-3) will be in action next on Wednesday evening at
Lincoln Land. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
