The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team kept up their winning
ways on Saturday by defeating the visiting Lewis & Clark College
Trailblazers 80-59. The win is the 20th of the season for LC against
only one loss.
Evanston Township High School grad Allysah Boothe led the Lady Lynx
in scoring with 23 points and she added 7 assists. Freshman Kaleia
Monteiro (Rockford) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16
rebounds while fellow Rockford native Elizabeth Bankole had a
terrific all-around performance with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5
blocks. Sophomore Nautica Preston (Chicago) poured in 14 points and
had two steals in the game
Head Coach Matt Vavro liked the way his players responded to early
pressure from L &C who jumped out to an 8-0 lead. “I had a feeling
they were going to come out ready to play coming off a loss,” said
Vavro. “I thought we settled in and played aggressively on defense.
We shared the ball well and finished with 19 assists.”
