Lincoln Wins 68-65

The Lincoln College Men’s Basketball team traveled to Springfield on
Wednesday evening for a match-up against Mid-West Athletic
Conference and Region 24 foe Lincoln Land Community College. The
Lynx returned with a three-point win which improved their record to
19-3 on the season and 4-2 in Region play.
Sophomore guard Trayvon Tyler (Rockford) had 14 points and three
assists in the game. Sophomore Richard Simpkins (Carlock) had the
next highest point total with 12. The leading rebounder for the Lynx
was Edwin Rivera (Puerto Rico) who pulled down 10.

LC Coach Pat Lepper saw the win as a team effort. “Every player on
our roster got in and contributed to the win,” he said. “We let a
lead get away from us late in the game, but kept our cool and made
the plays down the stretch we needed to get the job done.”
Next up for LC is a trip to Quincy, Illinois on Saturday to face
John Wood CC. Game time will be 3:00 PM.
