LINCOLN
There is
widespread scientific agreement that breastfeeding is beneficial for
both infants and their mothers, and national public health goals
reflect increased attention to helping ensure that mothers and
babies have the opportunity to experience these benefits. The
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that infants be
exclusively breastfed for about the first 6 months with continued
breastfeeding alongside introduction of appropriate complementary
foods for 1 year or longer.
In the United States, most mothers want – and try – to breastfeed.
Unfortunately, one mother’s interest alone is not always enough to
make breastfeeding possible. Support for breastfeeding is needed in
many different arenas including hospitals and birth centers,
worksites, and communities. Learn more here about how communities
can help!

For years, the ALMH has been working to promote and
support breastfeeding locally and we invite you to consider posting
the small window sticker to help working moms and customers feel
comfortable and invited at your business or workplace.
To
receive a sticker, please contact Angela Stoltzenburg at
217-605-5008 or by email at
