Obituary
Barney “Butch” Hildebrandt, 61, of
Athens passed away on February 6, 2018 at HSHS St.
John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Butch was born July 26, 1956 in Lincoln, the Son of
Bernard “Barney” and Mary (Rankin) Hildebrandt. He
married Roberta “Bert” Zumwalt on August 7, 1976 in
Emden. She survives in Athens.
Butch is also survived by his sister, Deborah
(Hildebrandt) Skelton; his brother, Wayne
Hildebrandt; and his brother-in-law, Larry (Cathy)
Zumwalt. Additionally he is survived by many nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and
sister-in-law, Rhonda Hildebrandt.
Butch was a long time member of The First United
Methodist Church in Lincoln.

Services for Butch will be held at
10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 10, 2018 at The
First United Methodist Church in Lincoln. A
visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday
February 9, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home Lincoln. With an additional hour visitation
prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Burial will take place after the service at
Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.
Memorial donations may be made in Butch’s name to
Logan County Relay for Life Team Faith, Hope, and
Love or The First United Methodist Church.
To honor Butch further, casual dress is suggested
for his services.
