Obituary
Dean Horn, 88, passed away at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, on February
10, 2018.
Dean worked with his brother Delbert “Preach” Horn,
running the Standard Oil Station located on the
square in Mount Pulaski for approximately 44 years.
Dean was a devoted husband to his late wife
Georgiann, whom he married on January 16, 1959 in
Mount Pulaski. She preceded him in death on February
10, 1986. Dean was a loving uncle to his nieces and
nephews and their families.
Dean’s hobbies included gardening and earlier in
life fishing. He was fond of motorcycles and
scooters all his life. Throughout his life, he
enjoyed watching high school and college basketball
games and also Major League Baseball. Dean was a
member of the Mount Pulaski Christian Church. He
served in the United States Army, during the Korean
Conflict from 1951-1953.

Surviving Dean are two nephews: Kevin
(Susan) Horn of Mount Pulaski, and Edwin (Yvonne)
Horn of Streator, two nieces: Karen Colliver of
Heyworth, and Debra Glueck of Morton; one
sister-in-law: Norma Dukett of Bloomington; his
cousin’s son: Dennis Beggs of Mount Pulaski. He was
preceded in death by his parents and two brothers:
Emerson and Delbert.
Services for Dean will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday
February 15, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert- Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Casey McCormick
officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior
(9:00-11:00 a.m.) also at the funeral home. Burial
at Mount Pulaski Cemetery will follow the service
where full military rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made in Dean’s name to Mount
Pulaski Christian Church or Mount Pulaski EMS.
