Obituary
Gregory E. Fitzpatrick, 93, of
Lincoln passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018,
at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday,
February 8, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible
officiating.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7,
2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church.
A Rosary Service will be held at 3:45 p.m. prior to
the visitation.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lincoln.
Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion
Post # 263.
Gregory Edward Fitzpatrick was born on October 1,
1924, in Lincoln the son of Joseph and Agnes Detmer
Fitzpatrick. He was united in marriage to Evelyn
Ryan on June 27, 1946. She survives.
Also surviving are his children:
Louie (Sue) Fitzpatrick, Mary (Phil) Ripa, Deb
Curry, Joni (Galen) Marten, Peggy (Greg) Morrow.
Daughter-in-law: Peggy Fitzpatrick, 20
grandchildren, 25 great-grand children. |
He was preceded in death by infant sons: William Paul
and James Gregory. Son: Joseph Edward Fitzpatrick, Grandson: Brock
Ryan Endres, four brothers, and one sister.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Greg graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1943. He
then proudly served in the United States Navy. He is a member of
Holy Family Catholic Church.
Greg was a 70-year member of the following organizations: Knights of
Columbus Council # 1250, American Legion Post # 263, Illinois
Brotherhood of Electric Workers Local # 193.
Greg's family would like to THANK the staff at St. Clara's Manor for
the loving care that was shown to Greg during his stay in the
nursing home.
Memorials may be made to the Brock Endres Memorial Fund, Carroll
Catholic School or the Knights of Columbus Council # 1250.
Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
