Austin Dillon won Daytona,
popped champagne on pit road and celebrated his victory Sunday in
Florida, a night that ended with a new tattoo on his backside:
"Daytona 500 champ."
Dillon said Monday morning at the champions breakfast press
conference in Daytona Beach, Fla., that he and some of his No. 3
team, along with Richard Childress Racing members, wound up at a
tattoo parlor looking for a way to commemorate taking the checkered
flag at Daytona.
"It's a pretty cool looking tattoo, you'll never be able to see it,
(my wife) is probably the only one who can see it for a while,"
Dillon said, noting the ink was on his rump.
Dillon, who was seated in a high-back chair Monday, said he will
deal with being uncomfortable for a few days. One of his crew
members gave him a playful slap on the cheeks before the press
conference.

Dillon, driving the No. 3 car made iconic by the late Dale
Earnhardt, won the 60th Daytona 500 on Sunday afternoon despite
leading only one lap. Dillon, 27, won the race 20 years after
Earnhardt Sr. won the 1998 Daytona 500.

"This one's for Dale Earnhardt Sr.," Dillon said on the track
Sunday.
