Jefferson Street Christian church is
sending a team of 20 individuals to Haiti this June.
While there, team members will be putting on a
medical clinic, an eye clinic, a VBS for 300 school
children, a soccer camp for 75 boys and girls, and
any other projects the mission needs us to do. We
will be in the country for 9 days.
This will be the 4th year doing the soccer camp,
which is similar to sports camps here in the USA,
except it's completely free to the Haitians who
attend camp. They each get a t-shirt, soccer ball,
and a meal to eat each day of camp. I will be
leading the camp with the help of several local high
schoolers who are attending the trip.
They will have an M.D. and a few nurses who will be
doing the medical clinic. Dr Nobbe will be doing an
eye clinic. Other team members will assist with
these, and put on a VBS at the school near Pignon,
Haiti. It's safe to say our group will be very busy
with all of the projects.
Each team member has to raise $2,000 for the trip.
This covers travel costs, medical supplies, etc.
The auction is Saturday, Feb 24, at 6 PM at the
Lincoln Park District. Doors open at 5 PM, and
people want to arrive early to buy paddles and view
the silent auction items. The auction starts at 6.
For those who have never been, a quarter auction is
a great way to spend an evening, all while helping a
good cause! All ages are welcome!
