Obituary
Janine Kay Maxwell, 56, of Lincoln,
formerly of Springfield, ended her long battle with
brain cancer on February 14, 2018, and has been
reunited with her parents, Wilma and Jim Maxwell in
heaven.
Born in Los Angeles, Calif., on February 13, 1962,
this beautiful olive-complexioned little girl would
move from Riverside, Calif., to the place she will
be laid to rest, her family farm just south of
Manito, Ill.
Janine welcomed her only sibling, Jeff, when she was
not quite 3 and they shared life on the farm will
attending the Forman School System and the Forest
City Community Church. Janine excelled at academics,
music, and athletics, and was proud to be the first
female ever on the boys' Little League baseball team
in Manito. Her honors, achievements, and awards are
too numerous to mention. Let's just say she was an
over-achiever.
She was at peace when she was outdoors. She traveled
the world. She climbed many mountains. She loved
animals.
Janine graduated with Honors in 1980
from Pittsfield High School, attended one year at
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and
obtained her BS with Magna Cum Laude Honors at
Eureka College in 1984. She sang for President and
Mrs. Ronald Regan on two occasions. She held two
Masters Degrees. |
Janine is survived by her brother,
Jeffrey Maxwell and his wife, Rebecca, of Lincoln,
nephew Adam Jeffrey Maxwell of Lincoln, and niece
Anna-Grace Maxwell of Lincoln; one aunt, Mary
Silvernail of Green Valley, and many cousins.
