Lincoln (#19), took a two point lead into
halftime (30-28) then came out firing in the second half to
extend their advantage to as many as 17 points in the second
half. The Lynx (20-5) were able to control the tempo of play the
rest of the way for an 11-point victory.
Leading scorers for LC included sophomore guard Trayvon Tyler
(20 points), freshman Edwin Rivera (12 points) and Louis
Griffith (11 points). Tyler was also the team leader in rebounds
with six.
Lincoln Coach Pat Lepper enjoyed seeing his team perform at a
high level against a ranked opponent. “We won because we played
together,” he said. “It was a great team win in a tough
environment.”
The Lynx will look to add to their win total on Saturday at
Illinois Central College. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
