Connor McDavid scored in the
third round of a shootout to give the Edmonton Oilers a wild 6-5
victory over the host Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.
Anaheim's Rickard Rakell scored a hat trick, including two goals in
the final 21 seconds to send the game into overtime.
Ryan Strome scored two goals, McDavid had three assists and
Draisaitl had a goal and an assist for Edmonton, which won its third
straight game and swept its back-to-back weekend trip to Los Angeles
and Anaheim. Anton Slepyshev and Iiro Pakarinen also scored goals
for the Oilers.
Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and three assists, and Adam Henrique also
scored for Anaheim, which lost for just the second time in its past
13 home games (10-2-1) against the Oilers. Corey Perry logged three
assists.
Wild 3, Sharks 2 (OT)
Jared Spurgeon scored the game-winner with 12 seconds left in
overtime as Minnesota produced three unanswered goals to beat
visiting San Jose.
The goal was Spurgeon's eighth of the season and accounted for the
200th point of his NHL career. Spurgeon notched his 55th career goal
-- a number that ties him with Brent Burns for the most by a
Minnesota defenseman in franchise history.
Matt Cullen and Eric Staal also scored for Minnesota, while Joakim
Ryan and Chris Tierney had goals for the Sharks.
Red Wings 3, Rangers 2 (OT)
Trevor Daley tipped in a Frans Nielsen shot with six seconds
remaining in overtime, giving Detroit a victory at New York.
Daley's seventh goal of the season was the only shot on net during
the overtime session. Andreas Athanasiou and Darren Helm had the
regulation goals for the Red Wings, who won for the second time in
as many nights. Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard turned aside 36 shots.
J.T. Miller and Jesper Fast scored for the Rangers, who have lost
seven straight for the first time since 2006. New York goaltender
Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves.
Sabres 4, Bruins 1
After the Rangers traded Rick Nash to the Bruins on Sunday morning,
the left winger was stymied by goalie Chad Johnson as host Buffalo
earned an easy victory against Boston.

Johnson made 34 saves and the Sabres got goals from Benoit Pouliot,
Kyle Okposo, Evan Rodrigues and Marco Scandella.
Charlie McAvoy scored the lone goal for Boston, which dropped its
second straight to finish its road trip at 2-3-0.
Predators 4, Blues 0
Colton Sissons scored the only goal Nashville would need five
minutes into the game, and Pekka Rinne turned away 27 shots while
shutting out visiting St. Louis.
Nashville won its fourth straight game, improved to 9-2-2 in its
past 13 contests. Rinne recorded his sixth shutout of the season and
49th of his 11-year NHL career, and Kevin Fiala, Scott Hartnell and
Austin Watson added goals for the Predators.
The loss was the season-worst sixth straight for the Blues, who have
scored two goals or fewer in eight of their past 11 games.
Canucks 3, Coyotes 1
Daniel Sedin scored two goals, including the winner, as Vancouver
won at Arizona.
Sedin's second goal, on a mid-air deflection of rookie Brock
Boeser's shot at 11:43 of the third period, broke a 1-1 tie. With
his two goals, Sedin now has nine points in the past seven games.
Darren Archibald provided a short-handed insurance marker at 14:08
of the third period.
Alex Goligoski supplied Arizona's lone goal as the Coyotes took only
their second loss in seven games.
