MIDDLETOWN
New
Holland-Middletown Elementary District 88 Superintendent Todd Dugan
will be the new Superintendent of Bunker Hill CUSD #8 in Macoupin
County beginning next school year. Dugan was officially hired at a
special board meeting by the Bunker Hill CUSD #8 Board of Education
on February 18, 2018.
Dugan, who has
served the New Holland-Middletown district since 2012, will begin in
his new role on July 1, 2018. Bunker Hill CUSD #8, a PK-12 district
located in southwestern Illinois, consists of Wolf Ridge Elementary
Center and Bunker Hill High School with a district enrollment of
nearly 700 students. While looking forward to the professional
growth afforded by a larger district, Dugan says he “will miss the
communities of New Holland and Middletown, and is extremely proud of
what the district has been able to accomplish over the past several
years.”
Over the past six
years, New Holland-Middletown ESD #88 became the first 1:1 school
district in Logan County with Apple iPads, Google Chromebooks and
Microsoft Surfaces.

The district also
received numerous grants and awards, including a large Illinois
Energy Efficiency grant in 2014 which enabled the district to
undergo a HVAC upgrade and renovation of the primary school, earning
it Energy Star qualification.
Currently a
nominee for the 2018 Districts of Distinction Award for the
district’s efforts in disrupting inequity, Dugan, a 2017 Leader of
the Year, credits the NH-M Board of Education for its “progressive
leadership and commitment to doing what’s best for the kids” as well
as the many dedicated teachers and support staff and the
communities’ supportive families as the real reason behind the
successes the district has enjoyed.
