Olympia High School FFA
has selected freshmen FFA member, Lane Schweigert, as the member of
the month for December. Lane is the son of Jeff and Jenny Schweigert
of Hopedale.

Lane was selected for his outstanding participation
in a wide variety of FFA activities during the fall semester.
He spent a lot of time grilling pork chops for home football games
this fall. Lane participated in the FFA Creed speaking competition
at the local level as well as represented our chapter at the Section
9 FFA Agronomy Career Development Event (CDE). He has attended
nearly every FFA meeting to date.

Lane is off to a great start in his FFA career. He has also
excelled in the agriculture classroom. Lane’s supervised agricultural experience
(SAE) project involves him working with his sheep flock of ten ewes. He is
interested in study agriculture in college. Lane’s favorite FFA activity so far
has been the Agronomy CDE. “I like to compete and demonstrate what I have
learned in the classroom,” stated Schweigert. A special thanks to Mark Dietrich
of Dietrich Builders for sponsoring the member of the month award!
