Cardinals agree to deal with OF Grichuk

[January 12, 2018]    St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Randal Grichuk agreed to a one-year, $2.6 million contract on Thursday to avoid salary arbitration.

Grichuk batted .238 with 22 homers and 59 RBIs last season. He has a .249 career average and 66 homers in parts of four seasons with St. Louis.

Grichuk, 26, is slated to be team's starting right fielder this season.

St. Louis has three other arbitration-eligible players who it must exchange salary figures with prior to Friday's deadline: pitchers Michael Wacha and Tyler Lyons and recently acquired outfielder Marcell Ozuna.
