Rockford Auburn High School grad Trayvon Tyler
lit up the scoreboard for a team high 26 points. Tyler went 9 of
20 from the field connecting five times on three-point attempts.
Fellow Sophomore Richard Simpkins (Carlock) also turned in a
strong performance scoring 12 points, grabbing three rebounds,
and he blocked one shot.
Lincoln Coach Pat Lepper was pleased with his team’s ability to
handle the pressure of back-to-back road games. “It was a long
trip down due to traffic delays, but our guys came off the bus
ready to play,” said Lepper. “We had great energy on defense in
the first half which kept St. Louis from getting into any kind
of offensive rhythm. Trayvon had an excellent game for us, which
is the kind of leadership we have come to expect from him.”
Lincoln will begin a three game home stand on January 20th as
they host Robert Morris College at 3:00 p.m.
