Montgomerie leads by two at Champions opener

[January 20, 2018]    Colin Montgomerie leads by two strokes at the PGA Tour Champions season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship heading into the final round.

Montgomerie carded a 7-under 65 for the second straight day at Hualalai in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

Gene Sauers and Jerry Kelly, who shared the first-round lead, now sit in a tie for second after both carded 68 on Friday.

David Toms sits alone in fourth after a 6-under round put him at 11-under for the tournament.

Three players -- Woody Austin, Mark Calcavecchia and Doug Garwood -- are in a logjam one shot back of Toms after they each shot a 67 for the second consecutive day.
